108th Illinois Mascot

Macgregor was the mascot of our unit from 2004 until his passing in October 2015.

Macgregor attended reenactments, parades, and living history events. He was well liked and received by those of the reenactment community. McGregor was a Yorkie-Poo,he was 14 yrs old when he passed away. Sometimes he was listed on scavenger hunts and listed as General McGregor. He was a very good asset for our unit,people enjoyed seeing him,his picture was even listed in a published book, Civil War A to Z by Anita Quick. The Sons of Union Veterans even made him an honorary member as a goodwill ambassador. At school days events, students enjoyed seeing him. Many pictures of him were taken at events. He will be missed by many at reenactments.
